Evenings in Milan

Milan is Matteo Cammisa's European base from May to December, and most of what he performs there never becomes an announcement: client dinners, showroom evenings, brand activations, the private end of a city that entertains professionally all year.

The first frame is from DaV — the Milan restaurant of the Cerea family, whose Da Vittorio holds three Michelin stars. A signed four of hearts, kept by the guest. Restaurants of that standard are the hardest rooms to perform in and the most instructive: the craft on the plate sets the bar for the craft at the table.

The second is the other Milan — a brand activation under red neon, where the job is to hold a room that is moving, loud and photographing itself. The guest holding the fanned deck is the Italian actor Michele Morrone. Close-up magic travels between those two registers without changing costume: same hands, same distance, a different tempo.
