One Card for Chicco Cerea — a Night Off at DaV Milano

This one was not a booking. Milan is Matteo Cammisa's European base from May to December, and on a night off he was at dinner at DaV Milano — the Cerea family's restaurant at the foot of the Isozaki tower in the CityLife district, the casual counterpart to Da Vittorio in Brusaporto, which holds three Michelin stars.

The card was a surprise, done for chef Enrico "Chicco" Cerea himself, at his own table, for no reason other than that it seemed like the right thing to do with a deck in your pocket. He signed the four of hearts and kept it.

It is included here because it is the honest version of what this work actually is. Most of the year it is commissioned, briefed and filmed. Occasionally it is one card, for one person who has spent a lifetime being very good at something else — and those are the ones the performer remembers.
