The Setting
Capri compresses the Italian wedding into its most concentrated form: an island reached by boat, venues counted on two hands, terraces above the most photographed rocks in the Mediterranean, and a scale that keeps every celebration intimate whether it means to or not. Sixty to a hundred and twenty guests is the Capri wedding — and that is close-up magic's strongest scale.
Everything on Capri arrives by boat and then by hand — the island's logistics discipline every supplier. A performer whose entire setup is a deck of cards is the one act the funicular cannot complicate, and the terraces' precious square metres never have to host equipment.
The island's evenings are about the light on the water and the guests at the table. The performance works those tables between courses and the aperitivo hour against the view — native Italian with the family, English with the friends, and nothing competing with the Faraglioni.
The Experience
Cocktail hour is the longest unscripted stretch of a wedding — the couple is with the photographer and two families stand in their own circles. Close-up magic occupies exactly that window and mixes the room as a side effect.
No stage, no sound, no lighting, no power. A clifftop terrace, a beach club or a villa courtyard is exactly as workable as a ballroom — which at a destination wedding removes a whole category of planning.
The impossible moment happens in the guest's own hands and needs no translation. Matteo performs in English and Italian — at a destination wedding, the difference between everyone being included and half the room watching politely.
Reaction shots from close-up magic are often the strongest candid images of the cocktail hour. Matteo works with the photographer rather than in front of them.

Your Day
The hardest part of a destination wedding is that half your guests have never met. Close-up magic gives strangers something to react to together — the fastest way to turn two guest lists into one room.
The gap while you're away with the photographer is the single best hour for magic. Guests are standing, drinking and unoccupied. Matteo moves group to group so nobody is left waiting.
Between courses, Matteo visits each table for a few minutes. It keeps the evening moving through the long stretches of a seated dinner, and every table gets a moment that belongs to them.
Optional, and often the piece couples remember most: something staged privately for the bride and groom, away from the room, that the photographer can catch.

Common Questions
Capri's logistics answer the question: everything arrives by boat and then by hand, and terrace space is the island's scarcest luxury. Entertainment with no equipment, no stage and no footprint — close-up magic through the aperitivo and the dinner tables — is the act the island's geography actually permits at full quality.
Eighty is this format's best scale, not its compromise. Every guest is reached properly across the evening, with time for the couple's own story in the material. The acts that struggle at Capri scale are the staged ones.
Yes — the whole island: the clifftop terraces, Anacapri's gardens, and the waterside tables at Marina Grande and Marina Piccola. Nothing is needed from any of them.
The island's few venues book their Saturdays a year out, May to September. For entertainment, six to twelve months is comfortable; one message settles a date.
