Weddings on Corfu
Corfu is the rare Greek island where wedding entertainment is already part of the local grammar — couples here book bands and musicians as standard, which tells you something about how these weddings run: long, generous, and built around the evening rather than a single ceremony moment. Close-up magic slots into that culture as the piece the band cannot cover — the ninety minutes of drinks and mingling before the music owns the night.
The island's wedding geography runs two registers. The Venetian old town gives terraces and courtyards over the rooftops — intimate, historic, no space for staging and no need for it. The north-east coast from Barbati to Kassiopi — the villa coast — hosts the estate weddings: olive groves, private jetties, dinner under the trees. Both are rooms where a performer who needs nothing is worth more than one who needs anything.

What wedding entertainment works on Corfu besides a band?+
The band owns the dancing — what it cannot cover is the cocktail hour and the dinner, when guests are standing with drinks or seated between courses. Close-up magic fills exactly those windows: performed guest to guest, nothing amplified, nothing staged, and it hands the evening to the band warmer than it found it.
Do you perform at villa weddings on the north-east coast?+
Yes — the villa estates from Barbati to Kassiopi are the island's signature wedding setting, and they suit the format perfectly: no stage, no power, no sound. An olive-grove dinner or a jetty-side cocktail hour changes nothing about the booking.
Can you also cover the welcome evening?+
Often the better booking of the two. Corfu weddings usually run a welcome dinner the night before, when guests who have flown in from different countries meet for the first time — a shared impossible moment is the fastest way to make one party out of two families.
How far ahead should a Corfu wedding book?+
May to early October is the season, with the same peak Saturdays as the rest of Greece. Six to twelve months out is comfortable; shorter notice is worth one message — the date either exists or it does not.
