The Setting
Weddings on Lake Garda
Garda is the practical Italian lake. Verona airport is under an hour from most of the western shore, the villages sit close enough together that guests can move between them, and a wedding here does not ask for the budget its more photographed neighbour does. That combination is why so many British, German and Dutch couples end up marrying on this lake.
The weddings themselves run long and mostly happen outdoors. Aperitivo stretches because the light does, and the gap between the ceremony and dinner opens wider than couples plan for. That gap is where close-up magic earns its place on Garda: it fills the part of the day nobody designs, and it needs no stage, no sound check and nothing a venue has to approve.

Garda weddings rarely put everyone in one hotel. Guests stay in Sirmione, Salò, Bardolino — wherever they found a room — and many only meet properly at the reception. Close-up magic turns a room of half-strangers into one crowd faster than anything else on the running order, because it gives them something to react to together.

Have you performed at a Lake Garda wedding before?+

Which parts of the lake do you cover?+
All of it. The western shore around Salò, Gardone Riviera and Limone, the southern towns of Sirmione, Desenzano and Peschiera, and the eastern side through Bardolino, Torri del Benaco and Malcesine up to Riva del Garda.
Does close-up magic work at an outdoor wedding?+
It is one of the few formats that does. There is no microphone to fight the open air, no screen to wash out in daylight and no power to run to a terrace. It is performed at conversational distance for four or five guests at a time, so it works as well in a garden at seven as in a dining room at eleven.
When in the day should we book it?+
The stretch between the ceremony and dinner is the strongest slot on Garda, because it runs longer here than couples expect and guests are standing with a drink and nothing to do. Welcome drinks the night before is the second. Most couples book both.
What languages do you perform in?+
Italian, English and Hungarian. Garda guest lists are usually a mix of Italian, British and German, and Matteo moves between groups without resetting the room.
How far in advance should we book?+
For May through September, nine to twelve months is usual. Matteo takes a limited number of weddings each season so that each one gets the day rather than a slot in it.
What do you need from the venue?+
Nothing technical. A line in the running order and somewhere to leave a jacket.
